We were commissioned by cult Australian jewellery brand Sarah & Sebastian to design their first ever retail location, located on Sydney’s Oxford Street in Paddington.
A rectangular glass jewellery box with no visible product, our retail concept reinvents its category.
A jewellers bench made from American walnut and copper is the central focus of the store, and the jeweller the first point of engagement upon entering.
Designed as an intimate shopping experience, the jeweller talks customers through raw materials and process before guiding them in finding the perfect piece using a control switch to light up sections of the two-way mirrored wall, slowly revealing collections one at a time.
"Landini Associates challenge everything you know about retail."
"There are three elements to our design. The first, a minimalist glass box which we lined with mirror to represent the simplicity of their art. The second, a beautifully detailed jewellers’ bench, an expression of their craft. The third, the alchemy of the mirrors which magically unveil their treasures at the jewellers will. Combined they represent the sum of the brand: minimal, crafted, magic."
"Landini thought outside the box and challenged convention, developing an innovative and exciting concept for our flagship boutique. We are thrilled with the space and the unique experience they have created for our clients."
