Landini Associates were engaged to reinvent Burt’s Bees with an approachable premium position ahead of the brand’s international expansion.
First launched in Hong Kong in 2016, our retail format continues to roll out globally.
"In the last five years, Burt’s Bees has doubled its sales outlets and quadrupled its retail sales. Their expansion into mass-market retail while maintaining its mom-and-pop storyline has made the company a force to be reckoned with in the beauty industry."
Truly a sustainable brand, Burt’s Bee’s philosophy is that everything should be for the greater good - good for you; good for us, good for all. Our design is driven by these principles.
Using a scaleable toolkit of parts, we developed 3 core store formats that allow for flexibility in the brand’s leaseholds globally: stand alone, shop-in-shop and in-store kiosk.
Our design celebrates the heritage of Burt’s world at one with nature whilst simultaneously updating the brand to compete competently in the increasingly crowded category of natural skincare.
"Landini has reinvented Burt’s Bees, repositioning it as a premium product whilst paying tribute to the brand’s focus on sustainability."
"Storytelling is a recurring element in Landini’s work. Burt’s Bees, for example, features a large photograph of the eccentric co-founder of the brand, Burt Shavitz, tending the bees he kept in Maine. Walls are made of recycled shingles to evoke Burt’s shack, while golden lighting aims to create a sense of actually being in a beehive."
