Following our successful redesign of Loblaws at the iconic Maple Leaf Gardens in 2011, we were engaged to do the same for Canada’s favourite discount brand, No Frills.
Our brief was to completely refresh and redesign the business, retaining the existing customer base whilst also attracting a wider savvier audience.
The first iteration of our new retail format opened to the public in 2013 in Stratford Ontario and continues to roll out across the nation.
Our retail format for No Frills won a High Distinction Award of Merit from the Retail Design Institute of America, beating the likes of Chanel, Hermès and Aesop Flagship stores. No mean feat for a discount supermarket.
"A richly layered urban retail environment with integrated planning, interior architecture and branding that creates a dynamic city place of broad functional, economic and meaningful value."
As part of our reinvention, we also created a Click & Collect brand under the No Frills banner. Loblaws were the first retailer in Canada to offer this service.
