T2 domestic airport in Sydney is a major city hub serving over 40 million passengers a year, from single businessmen to young backpackers and families on holidays. Sydney Airport engaged Landini Associates to renew its appeal and upgrade its environment by revitalising its food and beverage offer to suit current customer expectations.
Landini has reinvented the T2 precinct, creating a unique destination with a friendly personality, exciting new food experiences in a comfortable and connected environment.
The material palette features warm timber with industrial accents, bright natural daylight, clear sightlines and views of the airfield.
We created a cool, tonally calm, classic look and feel for T2’s customers. Airports are among the busiest places in the world and we’ve attempted to reduce pre flight anxiety by creating a place to pause, rest and relax.
The layout offers great flexibility with increased multiple seating options from individual to communal tables, as well as family friendly spots.
Free wi-fi and charging pods are available across the whole precinct allowing travellers to work on their laptops or connect with friends on social media before take off.
The trendy and curated food offer includes the first Yo Sushi and Joe & The Juice in Sydney to complement existing brands Krispy Kreme and Soul Origin.
Landini was also commissioned to review the tenancy guidelines, maintaining the warm and modern overall feel, while heroing the world flavours that Mad Mex, SumoSalad, Roll’d, Hokka Hokka and Sahara Grill will bring to the table.
In addition to the interior design, Landini’s scope of work also included branding, graphic design and way finding to create an intuitive traffic flow.
